Hello everyone
It’s been a while since my last newsletter as I have been away on holiday in France. Julia coped really well in the shop and always had plenty of questions at the end of the day when I called, eg is 4 ply the same as double knit? Well she isn’t a knitter!
This week I am taking delivery of a range of yarns from Sirdar. I wanted to expand my choice of baby yarns and patterns which I think no-one does quite as well as Sirdar. I will also be stocking their “Click” yarn which is a wool/acrylic mix, and Peru natural, both in double knit and chunky weights. I think the price of these yarns will encourage a lot more knitters to make adult size garments. Once again lots of modern patterns to support the yarns.
Courses: the children’s courses are growing in popularity. We have sessions on Saturday 4th August 10-12 noon, Tuesday 14th August 2 – 4pm, Wednesday 22nd August 10 – 12 noon and Wednesday 29th August. Spaces limited to 6 children per session, book through the shop.
8TH August 2 – 4pm : How to create a professional finish to your knitted garment
Lyn will demonstrate how to pin, and block your garment and explain the grafting technique. Please bring current work, a bodkin needle and scissors.
15th August 2 – 4pm :
Making knitted flowers/leaves into a brooch. Materials supplied.
29th August 2 – 4pm :
Make a felted bag. Please bring suitable yarn to make a bag for felting. Wool needs to be untreated. If you purchase yarn in the shop you will receive a 10% discount. This applies to all workshops.
Each workshop is £15, which includes tea/coffee & cake.
Places are limited to 4 or 5 per session.
The knit and natter club gets busier each week, next one is Thursday 2nd August 10 – 12, hosted by Hilary. The evening session is open to all, but particularly for those wishing to learn how to knit or crochet, please bring your own yarn or purchase from shop – I am running out of oddments as I donate them to charity knitters.
